They say that diamonds are a girl’s best friend – and given that jeans are among a girl’s favourite things to wear it is hardly surprising to find trousers encrusted with diamante details. Sure, it isn’t usually real diamonds bound to the rear pocket of the jeans on offer, but they glitter all the same.
Most commonly, the diamante detailing is applied to the back pockets of fashionable jeans. Sometimes, details are also encrusted on the lower leg, front waist or other areas as well. Diamante can be simple, like the subtle sparkling DG monogram encrusted onto the back pocket of Dolce & Gabbana’s white cotton, low-rise, five-pocket bootcut jeans. Other diamante detailing is more ornate, such as that found on the back pocket of Rock and Republic jeans. Rock and Republic’s signature crown is sometimes encrusted with coloured Swarovski crystals – not diamonds, but in pink, gold, blue or silver, these are certainly as eye catching as the real thing would be. Some diamante detail is added to jeans as accessories – for example, Karen Millen offer jeans with a detachable diamante chain that goes from the front to the back pocket.
Diamante jeans aren’t only available from expensive fashion labels – you can find a number of stylish designs from high street shops such as Dorothy Perkins, Tammy, River Island and even Marks and Spencer. What’s more, when you’re looking for diamante jeans online, you can find a number of other options on offer from online shops that you wouldn’t ordinarily find in the high street. When buying diamante jeans online, be sure that your chosen retailer can prove the authenticity of the jeans on offer – once you’ve received the trousers in the post, it might be difficult to know if the sparkly bits on the pockets are Swarovski crystals or just brightly-coloured bits of glass. Buying from a reputable online merchant takes the worry out of the equation.
