The Pepe Jeans empire has humble roots – it started out as a roadside stall run by the Shah brothers in London’s Portabello Road Market. One market stall expanded to four, and eventually the brothers opened their first boutique at Kings Road in 1975. The Pepe Jeans name rapidly acquired a cult status, thanks to celebrity fans like Morrissey lending their name to advertising campaigns. Today’s Pepe Jeans Company is among the most successful denim fashion brands on earth – with a collection of dedicated retail outlets in 60 countries and a presence in most shopping districts. Unique rivets, attention to detail and patch work, along with use of vibrant colours and crystals make Pepe Jeans stand out in a sea of denim. Pepe Jeans are not as expensive as some of the designer brands, making them more mainstream and easier to find.
Pepe Jeans for women include the Madonna, a bootcut jean made from Pepe’s mid-stretch denim for an attractive fit, which features gothic detail on the rear pocket, accented with shimmering rivets and beads.
